10 killed in accident in a week

Ten persons have died in various accidents in the past one week in Baitedi. Of them five died in road accidents, according to Baitedi police spokesperson Rabindra Chand.

Likewise, three died in incidents of fire while two committed suicide. The data was revealed at a programme held here on Friday. The number of deaths has been reported high in road accidents in Baitedi and most of them have been due to driver’s negligence, according to District Traffic Police, chief Aakas Rawal.

As of late the number of suicides cases has also gone up. Mental problems, misuse of information technology, personal issues, among others have contributed to the rise in incidents of people killing themselves, police said.

Nepal Police has been running various awareness programmes aimed at bringing down the number of unnatural deaths in the district, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Netramani Giri.
