Blood sample of Nirmala’s mother collectedPosted 1 month ago by Sandeep Bhattarai
Blood sample of Durga Devi, mother of Niramala Panta of Bhimduttanagar municipality in Kanchanpur district, has been collected on Wednesday. It may be noted that Nirmala Panta was raped and murdered five months ago.
Durga Devi had filed an application at the District Police Office for blood sample collection to cross check the authenticity of the ‘vaginal swab’ collected from Nirmala’s body.
Police collected blood sample of Durga Devi at the lab of Mahakali Zonal Hospital. Durga Devi said, “I have given blood sample at my own decision, thinking it might help in further investigation into the case.” Superintendent of Police, Kuber Kadayat, said the blood sample of Durga Devi would be sent to Nepal Police’s Forensic Lab and NAST Laboratory for the test. Nirmala was found dead at a sugarcane farm at Bhimduttanagar municipality-18 on July 27, 2018.
Police have been carrying out investigation into the case but no substantial progress has been made so far.
