Nepalese players at the team Everest martial arts of Dubai have won six gold, five silver and a bronze medals in the 14th national JKM Karate championship held in UAE.
In the tournament, Kenjal Shrestha won two gold medals in the Kata and Kukute group in the women side of age lower than 10 years. Similarly Ashna Pandey receved two golds in the same category in the age group less than 12 years. Towards the male category, Bijay Tamang won gold in the category of 50 kg while Saroj Pakhrin also won a gold in the 55 kg senior category. Also Laxman Thapa won the gold medal in the 55 kg category of black belt and also a bronze medal in the Kata category. In the junior Kumute category, Binod Rai won bronze medal in the 55 kg category, Ram Tamang and Dinesh Singh Ayer also won bronze medals in the 65 and 60 kg category respectively.
In the opening ceremony of the tournament, Sunita Khanal of the Everest Martial arts club presented a exciting dance and entertained the audiences.
