The major opposition Nepali Congress has demanded that the government immediately make public its view on Nepal-China border in Humla, build a common stand in the country and begin efforts to solve the matter via diplomatic dialogue.
Issuing a press release on Wednesday, NC Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma expressed displeasure over not making public the report of field visit conducted by a team of local administration, Nepal Army and the Armed Police Force in Humla in the first week of Asoj.
Protest against Sarlahi incident
Similarly, the NC condemned the assault made by security persons on a peaceful protest organized by the NC in Sarlahi on Wednesday.
The NC organized a peaceful protest in Sarlahi after the local administration failed to register the complaint relating to the murder of Mahendra Ram from Ramnagar Rural Municipality in the district. Ram was killed a week back. The security persons baton-charged and opened tear gas shells to the demonstration and injured the relatives of victim.
The victim’s wife, brother and three other women were injured by baton-charge, said Krishna Prasad Pouel, Chief Secretary at NC central office. The NC further demanded the government to release of the NC cadres, register the complaint and ensure justice to the victim family.
