Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Banskota has said technology was for the betterment of life, so its optimum use is essential. The government Spokesperson added that technology also accelerates development.
The Minister arrived here Friday to attend a programme organized to affix a cancellation mark on postal stamp relating to the historic Alam Devi Temple.
“Digital technology has significant role to realize the national ambition of ‘Prosperous Nepal-Happy Nepali’ for country’s transformation. So, government is devoted to development and use of digital technology,” he argued. He however expressed worry over the misuse of technology.
According to him, the government was in the mega campaign of development. Operations of ships in country’s rivers and arrangement of own satellite would be realized. “Development is not possible in the absence of dream,” he underscored.
In response to a question relating to the Kalapani issue, he said, “Nepal government is clear that we protect our territory at any cost. We solve problems through diplomatic channel.”
On the occasion, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Padma Aryal said the only ambition of government at present is development.
