An international conference is being held in the capital city to discuss various dimensions of Nepal’s constitution.
Kathmandu University’s School of Law and South Asian Guthi are jointly organizing the conference from August 11 to 13.
The conference will be attended by national and international constitutionalists, advocates, politicians, sociologists and present and past parliamentarians. Similarly, area experts and politicians from all seven provinces would attend the conference, said Yagya Thapa of the organizing secretariat.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari is scheduled to inaugurate the conference to be held at Soaltee Hotel while Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will address the closing session. Similarly, it will be addressed by former Speaker and parliamentary party deputy leader of CPN Subash Nembang and drafter of Bangladesh constitution, Kamal Hussain and other constitutional experts.
Vice-Chancellor of the Kathmandu University Dr Ramkantha Makaju hoped that the conference would be useful to better understand the elements of constitution and its implementation.
