Expressing his greetings on the occasion of International women’s day on Thursday, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said, the government is seriously working to eradicate the social and legal inequality that women are compelled to face.
PM Oli in his message said, the government is trying various efforts to put an end to the social backwardness, blind faiths and the problems caused to the women by these social beliefs. For this the government is stepping forward in education, awareness, and legal provisions and effectively implementing them in practice, Oli said. The message states that in spite of the provisions of quality education, basic health facilities and employment opportunities, participation of women in these sectors in very low.
In his message, Oli said the provision of at least a women candidate in president or vice president, speaker or deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, president or vice president of the national assembly, speaker or deputy speaker of the provincial government in the constitution is a major leap.
