Nepalese living in Colorado of America are going to organize holi program.

The president of the common organization of Nepalese, Nepali ghar, Lakshuram Rana said that the holi festival will be organized on Saturday March 3 from 12 pm to 2 pm at a temple located at Brighten. President Rana asked all the interested ones in Colorado to take part in the program. The holi festival resembling the victory of truth is observed in Nepal on Falgun Shukla Astami and officially begins after the worshipping at the Basantpur temple.

According to Hindu mythology, the holi festival is believed to be the victory of the Prahlad, the son of Ankhana, who was also a great devotee of lord Bishnu. Prahlad was tried for assassination by Holika who was believed to have blessed with special power by which she was inflammable and Prahlad was to sit on the flames along with Holika so that he would die but that didn’t happen. Instead Holika burnt to ashes by the flames so this festival has great religious importance for the Hindu religion.
