Two thousand 355 Nepalese have received the travel documents from the Nepalese embassy at Kuwait till the 13th day (February 10) of the amnesty.
According to the Secretary of the Nepali embassy of Kuwait, Bhogendra Lingden, among these taking travel documents, 875 were male, 1444 females and 36 were children. Amnesty starts from January 29th and lasts on February 22nd. Within this period, the Nepali workers living in Kuwait illegally without VISA can return to their homeland without paying penalty while if they want to live in Kuwait, they can stay there legally after paying allocated penalty.
If this amnesty is ignored and the foreign workers are caught by the Kuwait police, they cannot enter Kuwait or other gulf countries. Nepali embassy has notified that if the people living illegally in Kuwait do not return to their country within the amnesty period, they aren’t allowed for foreign employment in the gulf countries like Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and others.
